OPEX UltraRod®

The artificial lift market requires solutions that serve both conventional mature wells and unconventional wells. At the same time it is required that the pumping rods can withstand the most demanding working conditions and hostile well environments.

This is why OPEX Services uses its expertise and creates the UltraRod® Series. These sucker rods are designed to meet current production needs. The developed models are: UltraRod® XU1 and UltraRod® XU2.

General Information

UltraRod® exceeds the resistance requirements indicated in the API-11B standard, which provides the following benefits:

  • Extended useful life.
  • Increased resistance to fatigue.
  • Consistency of quality and performance, due to strict manufacturing controls.

Following Goodman's formula, the maximum allowable effort for UltraRod® XU1 and UltraRod® XU2 is the following:

Emax = (T/2.8 + 0.375*Emin)*FS
Emax = Maximum effort
T = Minimum Traction Resistance
Emin = Minimal Stress
FS = Service factor

Specifications:

  • UltraRod® XU1 made with special steel 4138M, chromium-molybdenum alloy.
  • UltraRod® XU2 made with special 4332 steel, nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy.
  • Normalized and tempered.
  • Unions 1-1/8" Pin Extended, with laminated threads according to API-11B.
